I absolutely loved this course!

The swim was awesome. Clear water, calm and a lot of jellyfish. The bike was fast and flat but I got a 5 min penalty. Once again I didn’t see the card, but this time I chatted with the referee when I saw her writing! I asked her if I was okay and she said no. I asked why? She said I didn’t back off once a guy passed me! Instead I passed him once again! I was pissed! This guy was constantly passing me and I was backing off, but then he would slow down a lot. So I had to pass him many times. He was making me mad. Oh well, I stopped at penalty tent for 5 min and fortunately I didn’t get DQ because I had asked. Be careful when racing IM because most of the time you don’t see the card. So, if you don’t know you got a penalty and you don’t stop, you will get disqualified. The run was super hot and sunny. Not happy about my pace. I know I couldn’t have run at 8:15-8:45. But my legs where not there. I was feeling tightness under my butt, both sides where the hammys attach. Overall I came close to the top and I’m happy with that. I qualified for South Africa World Championship 2018 with the roll down. I nailed the swim, I nailed the bike beside that penalty, I nailed nutrition, but I didn’t nail the run.
